Par-Tay! Par-Tay!

Easter Egg Hunt @ Little Gym

Coach, look at my basket!

On the hunt

Who . . . What . . .?!?

Bunny ears and big smiles

BTW--if you want to creep out GiGi,
just take a duck face selfie with that sweet little guy.

Easter Party @ St. Maximilian Kolbe School

Cecilia is the room mother for Daniel's two year-old class.  While she was setting up the table and snacks in the classroom, here's what was happening in the hall.
The Twos had an egg hunt, provided by the school.

Ready?  Set?  Go!

Ms. Theresa is one of D's favorites
because she has lots of Maters (from Cars) on her desk.

Been wearing this hat for 36 hours now.

Waiting for Sebastian

Cecilia made placemats from chalkboard paper and washi tape;
personalized each with a white paint pen.
She tied up chalk with ribbon and sent both the mat and chalk home
along with a little plastic carrot.
There's chalk in the green pitcher, for drawing after a yummy snack.

Two Birthdays: 67 + 33 = 100% Awesome!

The first week of April is a no foolin' busy birthday time for the Binghams.

Steve (aka Dad, SteveDad, HeyYea) was born on the 4th, and 34 years later, Will arrived on the 6th.

67 + 33 = 100% Awesome!

When Cecilia and Will arrived on Sunday for lunch, Daniel went right away to HeyYea.  "Want a red truck?  Red Truck, HeyYea?  Want a red truck?"  BTW--Don't trust this little guy with any family secrets, especially when wheels are involved, okay?!  Will brought in a bag that D was more than happy to help HeyYea open.
"Want a red truck, HeyYea?"

Mamae and Papai watched as HeyYea fought a two-year-old for his present.

HeyYea used to have an old red pick-up truck.
Now, another one!
That is, if Daniel will share . . .

"HeyYea, the only thing that stands between us and the truck is that box."

Daniel made a dash for the table where all his wheels are.

Mamae and Papai convinced D to bring the truck back to HeyYea
for a little look.

The two gearheads checked it out.
Hunka Cheese showed up on a break from tax preparations
just in time to visit before naptime.

Some birthday portraits

Cecilia, Will, and Steve Jr.

Aren't they the best?

While Little Man napped, we snapped a couple of pictures
and sat down to Mexican Chef Salad.
D slept on while Cecilia made not just one cake . . .

. . . but two!
Vanilla Sponge Cake with Nutella filling for Will,
and Chocolate Sponge Cake with Marshmallow Crème filling for SteveDad
When our littlest party guest woke up, we all had some silly fun.  The hammock/rede in the room where Daniel sleeps is a favorite place to swing because it makes funny squeaky noises.  "Wanna qweek, GiGi?"  Ready?  Set?  Go! and he and I take off as high as we can--the higher you go, the louder the qweek, right?
Hunka Cheese had fun testing out the rede with his homey.

The game of the day was "all fall down."

We all worked up good appetites for the two birthday cakes that Cecilia made.

Happy Birthday, you guys!

Make a wish  . . .

After an automatic "No thank you," Daniel changed his mind
and decided to eat all of Mamae's cake.
Then they took on another candle.

Deee. Lish.
Great job, Cecilia!

After Steve Jr's opera-singing monkey birthday card,
it may be hard to measure up.  But Will had a herd of cows
that sing several songs.

Each cow has a colored button;
color-coded song notes aid in playing tunes like
"The Moo Danube."

Will opened his gift.

Daniel played more moo-sic.

While Will modeled his manly grey and white striped apron,
Steve told Daniel to divert his eyes.

This is a guy who knows his way around a kitchen.
Now he doesn't need to wear Cecilia's floral apron.
Robo Chef.

Happy Birthday, HeyYea.
We've celebrated birthdays together
for 2/3 of our lives!

March Fun

You know what they say about Texas weather . . .

If you don't like it,

just wait a day.
Those two pix were taken about a week apart, but it's always amazing how quickly our plants respond to lengthening days and warmer temps.

When he visits, Little Man starts the day needing a light jacket over long sleeves and by lunchtime he's stripped to a diaper for puddle jumping.  "It's WET!  It's all WET!" he squeals.

Here are some pictures of the fun we've had in March.
Now that we've finally turned the car seat around to face forward,
D likes to tell HeyYea, "HeyYea, you're good driver!"
Instructions from our back seat driver: "Red means stop.  Green means go."
"Watch out!!  Watch out!  Look!"
Then as soon as we're parked in the driveway,
our newest driver scrambles to the best seat.
"Daniel good driver!"

Since the day we stopped on a walk to watch a forklift in action,
hard hats have been a topic of great interest.
At home D wore his Dad's bike helmet all day--even to the library.
He found this white hard hat in a stack of GiGi's mixing bowls.

When Hunka Cheese found out that his little Homey likes helmets and hard hats, he showed up with a special present.
A real hard hat with stickers and drilling mud
from when Hunka Cheese worked at Weatherford.

Adjusting the fit.

Blurry and squealing with joy!

My hard hat, Matey!

Thank you, Hunka Cheese.

For Daniel's party on February 22, I purchased foil balloons at the Family Dollar.  Four weeks later, they were still floating.  (Quite a bargain, aye?)

"Daniel hiding in a balloons."

"Here I am!"
There's a bucket of smooth black stones by our sandbox.
One day GiGi and Daniel were tossing stones onto the path,
and it was time to gather them all up to throw again.
D picked up one or two and then sat on the patio to watch.
Knowing that Mr. Two doesn't respond so well to direct commands,
GiGi demonstrated how much fun it was to sing and pick up,
with special dramatic flair.  Daniel didn't budge,
but in his most encouraging voice, he commented,
"Good job, GiGi!!"

GiGi works in the garden a lot between visits from D.
He's very tempted by the tool bucket; when I tell him they're GiGi's tools,
he gets wide-eyed and very serious, saying, "They dain - jus." (dangerous)

Our recycled cardboard garage is holding up
after a month of love.
