Friday +

Hola!  Hi!  It's Daniel again with a new adventure I want to share togedder with you.

Once upon a time last Friday, GiGi and HeyYea came to my house.  I opened the door before they even knocked and was ready to go in HeyYea's car right then.  But Papai and Mamae said they wanted to say hi to GiGi and HeyYea, so I had to wait.  Grown-ups like to talk a lot, so I just talk too.  At the same time.

But Mamae and I listened while GiGi read my new library book called Alice in Wonderland. Mamae says it's her favorite story.  I like it too--Tweedledee and Tweedledum are good words to say over and over and over again.

Daniel, GiGi, and HeyYea all said good-bye and gave kisses to everyone.  I climbed in the car seat all by myself, and GiGi helped me get buckled up.  HeyYea's car is like a library that rides down the street.  There's Henry the Duck and Flip Flap Fly and The Little Engine That Could and Color Kittens and one about all the bugs in the garden.  So GiGi sat in the back seat with me and we read books.  Since my seat faces the front now, I can tell HeyYea, "Look out!"  HeyYea is a good driver, but sometimes I tell him "Red means stop and green means go," just in case he doesn't remember.

We came into GiGiHeyYea's house and there was a surprise for me.
See my Golf Clubs!?

I look like one of the men on TV,
don't I?
HeyYea and I look like hockey players.

See the "goof ball"?
That white thing in my hand . . .

Hey Yea hit the ball good,
so I thought I needed to trade clubs.

I got ready to hit the ball
back to GiGi.

It was time to splash a little bit.
There was a little pool in the "back ard."

My water wheel went round and round
with the water hose on it.

I'm learning that when you screw the top
on this bottle full of water,
you can squirt anyone!

My GiGi and I took a walk with my Goof Clubs.

What happened? The sidewalk is all covered with grass.
Where's Mr. Trimmer Man and Mr. Blower Man?

We explored a neighbor's yard, and found
some animals. Birds . . .

. . . a lizard, a snail, and some toadstools
that looked a lot like seashells to me.
Did I tell you how much I like my Goof Clubs?

Wow! It was already time for lunch and a nap.
But GiGi promised more fun after I slept with my Pa and my Baa (pacifier and stuffed lamb) and two soft blankets.
Sunscreen.  Sandals.  Suit.  Splash!

Awesome, aren't they?!
I'm in love.

We ate watermelon outside.

Cold, sweet, and juicy.
SLURP!

Then we were off to find
Mr. Trimmer Man and Mr. Blower Man

I wore my Blower Man Tool,
just like Mr. Blower Man.
See him behind me?

I worked really hard to finish the job.

While GiGi fixed dinner,
HeyYea and I watched
Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggety Dog.

HeyYea and my Goof Clubs.

I had to dance.

After dinner, we went to eat some
frozen yogurt.
I took my goof ball and one of my clubs.

When it was bath time,
guess what I wanted to take in the tub?

When it was time for bed, I said goodnight to my new toy.  "Ni-Night, Goof Clubs."  Then I went to sleep for more than 11 hours. That was so I could be ready for more surprises.

HeyYea showed me how to make
spaghetti and worms.

"Queeze!"

GiGi took me to WalMart where we
got some sand and dirt.

We did some other stuff and ate lunch and took another nap, but then it was time to go back to my house.
Papai picked me up.

And we flew home.

The End.

Mothers' Day 2014

It was the best of days!

GiGi's flower from Daniel

Gifts #1 and #2 with which God blessed me to be a mother:
Steve and Steve

and then there are Gifts #3 and #4:
Will and Cecilia
Waiting for dinner with Gift #5:
Daniel
Daniel helped Mamae with some rosemary.
(Happy Mothers' Day III, Cecilia!)

This was my view at the dinner table.
I tried to channel my Mom with the menu of
brisket, potato salad, beans, and corn on the cob.
Here's Mr. Two who found that lining up bugs was much more interesting
than eating beans and corn.

A vocabulary lesson in both English and Brazilian Portuguese.

Hunka Cheese and his Homey

Let the silliness commence!
On Skype to Brazil, Cecilia connected with her mother
and gave her a tour of our slice of Texas--
complete with Dora's first serenade from a very loud and proud Mockingbird.

The sunset started to color the sky--
that is, what we could see of it beyond all the rooftops.

Via Skype, Cecilia took her mother
to see the crazy boys.
The Boys book was upside-down,
and I think Daniel was too.

When Cecilia, Will, and Daniel arrived,
they brought in two loads of laundry
because their dryer was broken;
and what better way to celebrate Mothers' Day?!!
Meanwhile in the living room, a tissue paper fight was brewing.

SteveDad just drank in all the fun.
After the tissue war, there were books to read.

Cecilia and Will shared some love with Dora in Brazil.

Curious George Goes Fishing

Hunka Cheese talked about how he and Daniel would go fishing sometime,
just like Curious George.
Daniel tells his Vovo all about Curious George.

3 sweet cards, a pink and white ruffled carnation,
and an unexpected gift for GiGi

Plus clean warm laundry to share!

It's what we do!

It was the best of days, this Mothers' Day 2014.
God has blessed  our nest. . .
