To catch you up on Daniel's Mommy and Dad, I'll share some pictures from this past week or so.

In Mommy's Arms |
On the streets of Icarai, there's always at least one person--usually a woman--who stops to talk about Daniel. Well, let me rephrase that. We've never taken Daniel out for a walk without some nosey, self-proclaimed pediatric
expert giving us her two cents-worth of advice/criticism. "He's too young to be out." "You should wait until he's had all his vaccines." "He must be cold. Cover him up." "His arms are purple--you're not holding him properly." "He's so small." "How old is he . . ."
Cecilia and Will came back to the apartment after one of Daniel's first trips out and took him directly for a bath. C reported that some woman had taken Daniel's head in her hands and kissed him on the head. A total stranger. While it was a gesture of blessing, I ask you--
Who does this???!!!
We are all understandably gun-shy when we're out with Baby D. That's why I love this next picture.

Will turns to politely protect Daniel from
a drive-by kiss or unsolicited 'expert' opinion
on a walk in the neighborhood. |
This expert (the Gringa) thinks that Mommy and Dad are doing a
great job! Just look.
